Aspen Waste Systems, Inc. is an independent, privately-owned, growing company with offices in Minneapolis, St. Louis and Des Moines. Aspen provides waste and recycling collection services for commercial and residential customers. Aspen Waste Systems, Inc is currently seeking a HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST.
The Human Resources Generalist performs the day-to-day HR functions of the consolidated company. This position carries out responsibilities in the following areas: benefits administration, employee relations, recruitment and on-boarding, policy implementation, and employment law compliance. The Human Resource Generalist maintains and assists in the development of HR practices and objectives that will provide a high-performance workforce that emphasizes hard work, quality, productivity, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.
Responsibilities include:
- Work with Management and department Supervisors to effectively recruit and staff for a growing workforce; including: generating applicant pools by identifying and establishing recruitment sources, conducting first round interviews and recommending and scheduling applicant interviews.
- Develop and perform Employee Orientation programs.
- Maintain employee-related databases and files.
- Maintain the payroll database. Partner with accounting in the performance of the payroll process. Provide payroll processing backup support.
- Provide day-to-day benefit administration services.
- Partner with Management to develop, communicate and document company policies and procedures.
- Coordinate the distribution of employee communication
- Ensure compliance with various recordkeeping requirements, employment laws and other regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree
- 3-5 years of Human Resources experience
- General knowledge of employment laws and HR practices.
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft windows environment.
- Demonstrated skill in database management and recordkeeping.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with Managers and coworkers.
- Strong organizational skills and resourcefulness.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to function effectively in an environment with deadlines and shifting priorities.
- Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.
