    Reports To: Plant Superintendent

    Position Summary

    Our client is seeking a dependable Asphalt Plant Laborer to join their team at an asphalt/aggregate facility. This role is responsible for assisting with daily plant operations, maintenance, and general labor support while ensuring strict adherence to safety procedures.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Maintain a safe work environment for self and co-workers at all times.
    • Perform daily plant maintenance and keep the work area clean.
    • Report major maintenance issues to the Leadman or Superintendent.
    • Assist in training less-experienced employees in plant operations, servicing, and repair.
    • Perform general laboring duties, including shoveling, cleanup, and support tasks.
    • Maintain accurate time and material records.
    • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
    • Operate equipment such as front-end loaders and skid loaders when needed.
    • Support special projects or other duties as assigned by supervisors.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • At least 2 years of related experience preferred.
    • Must be 18 years of age or older.
    • Valid driver’s license (CDL Class A or B with hazmat/tanker endorsements preferred).
    • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check.
    • Basic computer skills (Excel and Word).
    • Knowledge of basic mechanics and electricity a plus.
    • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math for time and material records.
    • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to follow directions and support supervisors.

    Work Environment & Physical Requirements

    • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, crawl, climb, and balance for extended periods.
    • Must be able to lift and carry materials as required.
    • Ability to work in tight quarters and at heights.
    • Vision (corrected) must include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
    • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.).
    • Ability to work in environments with loud noise, dust, fumes, and moving mechanical parts.
    • Willingness to work overtime, nights, weekends, and travel as required.
    • Frequent use of PPE, including hard hat, safety shoes, gloves, face shield, and coveralls.
