  • Responsibilities

    As a member of the PACE Quality Improvement Team, this individual specializes in the coordination, communication, development and implementation of CalOptima PACE policies and procedures. This position is responsible for technical writing and policy analysis for the PACE program.  The overall objective of the position is to standardize and strengthen the policy review process to ensure consistency with regulatory and contractual requirements and communication of policies to PACE staff.  This individual will interact with various levels of PACE staff, including department management and the quality improvement team.  

     

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Plans, organizes and develops project work plans and lead interdisciplinary workgroups in planning, evaluating, and executing specific initiatives.
    • Provides technical writing for PACE operations staff.
    • Analyzes program policies for compliance with applicable statutory, regulatory, contractual and other CalOptima obligations.
    • Provides guidance to PACE management on policy implications and recommendations for policy decisions.
    • Periodically review staff training materials to ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual and policy standards.
    • Monitors and report on progress of the annual PACE policy review, coordinating and delegating review to subject matter experts within the PACE team.
    • Facilitates workgroup meetings and evaluate impact of operational changes on policy development and revision.
    • Identifies and respond to the needs and expectations of a diverse set of internal customers that result in high customer satisfaction.
    • Other projects and duties as assigned.

    • Organize and track numerous and various activities, timelines and issues.
    • Utilize and access computer and appropriate software (e.g. Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and job-specific applications/systems

    Required Experience

     

    EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
    • 2 years relevant work experience with policies, procedures or contracts.
    • 2 years’ experience in health care or health plan required.

     

    KNOWLEDGE OF:

    • Principles and practices of managed care.
    • Effective methods for coordinating the work of interactive groups.
