LPN Program, part-time, lab and clinical- 112 days/year; salary based on experience
- Minimum of a baccalaureate degree with a major in nursing from an accredited
college or university; Master of Science in Nursing preferred
- A minimum of two (2) years of full-time employment in nursing (or its
equivalent), within the past five (5) years.
- Current licensure in Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Registered Nurse.
- Clinical competence in acute and long term care nursing. Maternity and Pediatric experience a plus.
- Recent teaching experience, preferably in nursing education with adult students
- BLS certified
- Meets health standards of clinical agencies to which assigned (immunizations,
etc.) Meets CDC Covid vaccination recommendations.
- Current professional malpractice insurance
Job Goal: Provision of clinical instruction in nursing, including the practice laboratory
which fosters student attainment of the Program Outcomes for the Practical Nursing
Program. Limited classroom instruction required.
1. Utilizing the framework provided by the Philosophy, Program Outcomes and
Curriculum Plan of the Practical Nursing Program.
a. provides clinical supervision, for no more than ten (10) practical nursing students per clinical group in clinical agencies that will provide clinical practice to complement classroom and/or laboratory learning
b. designs and implements classroom and/or laboratory content as assigned
c. periodically evaluates student progress, according to evaluation strategies for clinical and/or laboratory experiences
d. maintains accurate and current records of student progress in assigned areas of clinical or classroom teaching
e. counsels students regarding clinical progress; provides remediation and referral as needed
f. communicates student progress on a regular basis to the Director of Practical Nursing
2. Monitors student adherence to program policies
3. Completes faculty orientation program for clinical agencies to which assigned
4. Adheres to clinical agency policies and/or contractual agreements regarding
student and faculty practice
5. Observes relevant faculty policies of the Assabet Valley School District
6. Participates on the Nursing Faculty committee which:
a. discusses program evaluations
b. reviews student progress/promotions
c. maintains and revises other activities relevant to the program
7. Accepts program responsibilities consistent with preparation and work hours as assigned by the Director of the Practical Nursing Program.
COMPENSATION: This is 0.6 FTE position of 112 days. Schedule to be developed by the Program Director to meet the needs of the program. This is a AFT Union, benefited position. School is in session Monday to Friday days, late August to June.
Additional Requirements:
Bachelor of Schience in Nursing required
Master of Science in Nursing preferred
Teaching experience preferred
Minimum of two years full time employment in nursing within the last five years
Current MA license as a Registered Nurse
Clinical competence in acute and long term care
