SUMMARY
Assists Production Manager in scheduling, organizing and supervision of shop operations. Supervisory team building skills a must. Experience managing inventory and managing production schedules required.
Works with the Assembly staff by installing electrical wiring and assembles components in control cabinets or enclosures, electrical and industrial equipment, and related industrial apparatus, according to blueprints/drawings and wiring diagrams by performing the following duties. Ensures efficiency and timely assembly to maximize turn-around of orders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Production Assistant tasks:
Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
Writes procedures for efficient and effect flow of incoming inventory, complete inventory, inventory management.
Establishes inventory minimum levels based upon production needs. Analyze reports (from Sage) to determine part usage, and if parts need to be discontinued.
Researches part cost and replacement options, provides written reports of recommendations.
Interview prospective employees, minor supervision to ensure work is done to specifications, and quality.
Has an understanding of how products work and helps troubleshoot quality issues, failures. Recommends corrective action.
Performs the following activities:
Reads each assembly procedure and assembles products based on technical drawings. Follows procedures to complete.
Ensures that parts are available to build project.
Documents the part needs to ensure that all staff know of shortage.
Ensures that project is complete timely for QA and shipment.
Attaches breakers, relays, contactors, bus bars, transformers, insulators, circuit boards, keypads, power supplies, plugging devices, and fuse blocks to mounting holes with bolts and screws.
Cuts, strips, bends, and forms wire cable, conduit, pipe, and tubing used to connect circuits and subassemblies.
Connects color-coded wires, using mirrors in compact areas.
Solders connections and crimps connectors to wire ends.
Tests and adjusts electrical assemblies.
Each product containing a microprocessor must be assembled, handled or worked with on one of the 4 antistatic mats. Failure to do so can cause damage to the processor and lead to product failure.
Must meet production schedule deadlines to assure timely shipping to customers. If issues arise that do not allow for timely completion, you must immediately notify your supervisor. Check the job board daily to review schedule and new orders.
Communicate questions or concerns regarding the assembly process, testing procedures, drawings, etc. to supervisor.
