  • Responsibilities

    DESCRIPTION

    The Educational Diagnostician will work at an assigned location or a set of cases based on their availability and the needs of schools/districts in the area. 

    They will be supervised by a Director of Evaluation Support and the Case Manager will assign them cases if needed. Depending on the situation, testing kits and protocols will be provided either by AIM or the school/district.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Utilize various assessment instruments and techniques, as a part of multidisciplinary team to assist in identifying students eligible for Special Education Services and in determining appropriate intervention strategies and techniques
    • Organize assignments to meet due dates and mandated timelines
    • Provide consultation to parents and school personnel regarding the educational needs of students as they relate to the instructional setting
    • Write full and individual evaluation (FIE) or review of existing evaluation data (REED) reports
    • Provide referral information to students, families, program and professionals regarding the needs of referral students
    • Attend Admissions, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee meetings and interpret evaluation results
    • Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned by the Director(s) of Evaluation Support or other AIM leaders

    EXPERIENCE

    • Experience in the administration and interpretation of a wide variety of psycho-educational evaluation instruments
    • 3+ years of successful teaching in a public or private school setting

    EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

    • Master's Degree in education or a related field from an accredited university 
    • Valid Texas teaching certification
    • Educational Diagnostician Certification by the Texas Education Agency (TEA)
    • Successful completion of the Texas Examinations of Educator Standards (TExES)

    COMPENSATION

    • AIM offers a competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    • Contact done via Slack, e-mail, and Zoom with Directors and colleagues
    • Occasional travel
    • Occasional light lifting and carrying of test materials
