    • Current and valid Texas PT License

    • Valid TX Driver's license and safe driving record

    AIM has an opening for a Physical Therapist in Texas to provide services in a K-12 school program. Previous school-based experience is a plus; and candidates must hold a valid PT - Physical Therapy license. We are committed to helping children and families, school leaders, and clinicians achieve success.

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

    • Ability to evaluate and treat students, helping them negotiate the school environment, improve school performance and engage with their peers
    • Serves as a member of the IEP team for students with physical therapy concerns
    • Facilitate goals and objectives per child's educational plan
    • Personal commitment to driving positive outcomes for students
    • Collaborative minded professional with strong oral and written communication skills
    • Ability to work and build strong relationships with parents, teachers, and school administrators
    • Experience working in schools or with children is a plus, but not required

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provide appropriate, individualized instruction to each student on the caseload
    • Develop schedules that meet the goals of each student
    • Provide consultation and assistance to staff as to skills to implement in the classroom
    • Establish open, frequent communication with parents, and all related service staff
    • Make recommendations for time need to implement goals
    • Participate in appropriate staff meetings as requested
    • Establish and maintain a positive atmosphere in working with staff in order that this atmosphere will be carried over for the student
    • Conduct Assessment
    • Direct instructional services
    • 504 or ARD attendance
    • Consultation with school staff or other AIM staff members.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    • Maintain emotional control under stress.

    • Daily attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of the job.

    • Regular District-wide travel to multiple work locations as assigned; frequent standing, stooping, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, heavy lifting, and moderate carrying.

    • May be required to lift and transfer students to and from wheelchairs or assist with positioning students with physical disabilities.

    • Ability to adjust and adapt to a multitude of situations in the school environment

    • Strong family engagement and communication
