Fleet Asset Manager – Confidential Search (Tampa Area)

A confidential transportation and logistics operation is seeking a Fleet Asset Manager to lead shop/service technicians and manage the full lifecycle of transportation equipment across a regional fleet. This includes asset planning, maintenance oversight, compliance management, and coordination with operations, supply, logistics, and dispatch teams.

What You’ll Lead

• Supervision and development of shop technicians and maintenance personnel
• Oversight of inspections, PM schedules, major repairs, rebuilds, and lifecycle planning
• Ensure all assets remain safe, compliant, road-ready, and aligned with DOT/HSS expectations
• Manage vendor relationships for repairs, inspections, parts, and specialized services
• Monitor TCO, cost controls, and major operating expenses; identify savings
• Collaborate with operations, supply, logistics, and dispatch to ensure asset availability
• Track and manage overseas containers, including inspections, repairs, and readiness for shipment
• Maintain shop presence and periodic regional travel (~10%)

Ideal Background

• 3–5+ years in fleet asset management, shop leadership, or equipment maintenance oversight
• Strong mechanical/technical aptitude with transportation equipment
• Experience with asset systems (MTS, Trimble, GPS/telematics)
• Knowledge of DOT, HSS, and transportation compliance
• Ability to lead technicians and communicate cross-functionally
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
