Summary Southern Ice Cream is hiring an Asset Maintenance Technician to deliver and pick up company equipment (freezers and related assets), perform minor on-site repairs, complete preventive maintenance, and support basic vehicle upkeep. This role is hands-on, customer-facing, and requires safe equipment handling and accurate documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver, set up, and pick up company-owned equipment at customer locations.

Perform minor on-site repairs/adjustments (gaskets, hinges/handles, casters, lights, cords, leveling, basic cleaning/inspections).

Complete preventive maintenance on assets and prepare equipment for redeployment (inspect, clean, stage, document).

Support minor vehicle PM and readiness checks (pre/post-trip inspections, lights/wipers, fluid checks per policy, cleanliness, report issues).

Use Samsara for routing/telematics and communication, track assets, deliveries, and service notes in Excel.

Operate forklift and powered pallet jack safely; assist with loading/unloading and shop organization.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Ability to operate a forklift and powered pallet jack (certified or able to obtain quickly).

Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort with hand tools; ability to perform minor repairs.

Working knowledge of Samsara (or similar) and basic Excel skills.

Able to lift/move up to 75 lbs with assistance/tools; frequent bending, pushing/pulling, and field travel.

Preferred

Experience with commercial freezers/refrigerated equipment, route delivery, or field service.

Forklift/pallet jack certification; DOT medical card if required for vehicle class.

Schedule/Environment

Full-time; field travel to customer sites plus warehouse/shop work. Occasional overtime/weekend coverage as needed.
