    Novastar Kids Co provides private educational service to children ages six weeks to fourteen years. The service includes child care, preschool, kindergarten, elementary through secondary education, summer camps, special events, enrichment classes, and after-school program.     About the Role:

    Join Novastar Kids Co as an Assistant Child Care Director and help lead a thriving early childhood education center. We are seeking a dynamic, experienced leader who is passionate about child development and committed to operational excellence. In this role, you will partner with the Director to oversee daily operations, support and mentor teaching staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain the highest standards of care and education.     Responsibilities:

    Leadership & Operations:

    Assist the Director in managing daily center operations and administrative functions.

    Assume Director responsibilities in the Director's absence.

    Support enrollment management including tours, family communication, and registration processes.

    Maintain accurate records for students, staff, and center operations.

    Assist with budget monitoring, supply ordering, and resource management.

    Staff Management:

    Supervise, coach, and mentor teaching staff to ensure high-quality instruction and care.

    Assist with staff scheduling to maintain required child-to-staff ratios.

    Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of new employees.

    Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to teachers.

    Coordinate and facilitate professional development opportunities for staff.

    Address staff concerns and support conflict resolution as needed.

    Compliance & Quality:

    Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local childcare licensing regulations.

    Maintain Colorado Shines quality rating standards and support continuous improvement efforts.

    Monitor health, safety, and sanitation practices throughout the center.

    Support curriculum implementation and ensure developmentally appropriate practices.

    Assist with licensing inspections and maintain all required documentation.

    Family & Community Relations:

    Build positive relationships with families and serve as a point of contact for parent concerns.

    Address parent inquiries and resolve conflicts professionally and promptly.

    Support family engagement events and center activities.

    Provide classroom coverage as needed to maintain ratios and support staff.

    Requirements:

    Associate degree in Early Childhood Education required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

    Colorado Shines PDIS 3.0 Level 3 or higher with large center Director Certification.

    3+ years of experience in early childhood education, including supervisory experience.

    Strong knowledge of Colorado childcare licensing regulations and compliance requirements.

    Experience with Colorado Shines quality rating system preferred.

    Proven leadership skills with ability to coach, mentor, and motivate staff.

    Excellent organizational and time management skills.

    Strong verbal and written communication skills.

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and childcare management software.

    Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

    Ability to diffuse and manage stressful situations professionally.

    Current CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain).

    Experience working with diverse populations a plus.

    Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire.
