    Assistant Construction Project Manager - Heavy Civil and Utility Construction - Base Salary to 130k/year - Staten Island, NY

    • Our client is a heavy civil and utility construction company that takes on utility, concrete, and sitework projects throughout the New York metropolitan area. Projects range from a few million up to 140 million, and can encompass street construction, pier restoration, utility replacement, shore protection, substation work, etc.
    • In this role, the Assistant Construction Project Manager will be responsible for developing project schedules, assisting with quantity takeoffs, and overall supporting the Project Manager in project execution including planning, procurement, and subcontractor coordination. They are taking on larger and larger projects, and need a go-getter in this role who can work well in the field, with the primary large project being on Staten Island. Looking for a Civil Construction Project Manager who has worked on infrastructure projects, preferably for government agencies such as USACE, DOT, or NAVFAC.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop, maintain, and update detailed Primavera P6 project schedules, including baseline creation and resource loading
    • Prepare look-ahead schedules, analyze schedule variances, and support development of recovery plans when needed
    • Ensure schedules and narrative updates comply with USACE and owner requirements, including earned value or progress reporting where applicable
    • Assist with quantity takeoffs and pricing for change orders, T&M work, and estimate updates
    • Support the project team with cost tracking, budget updates, and forecasting as requested
    • Support the Project Manager in overall project execution, including planning, procurement, and subcontractor coordination
    • Attend project meetings with clients, engineers, and subcontractors; prepare and distribute meeting minutes and follow-up action items
    • Assist with submittals, RFIs, and other project documentation to ensure timely responses and clear communication
    • Help maintain accurate records, logs, and reports in accordance with company and contract requirements
    • Monitor field construction activities to ensure compliance with project plans and specifications
    • Adapt to changing job responsibilities to align with project and organizational needs

    Qualifications:

    • 5+ years experience in heavy civil construction, preferably infrastructure
    • Experience working with federal agencies such as USACE or NAVFAC strongly preferred
    • Proficient in HCSS, Excel, and Primavera P6 or MS Projects
    • Experience supporting cost estimated and budget related tasks on civil infrastructure projects
    • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or similar
    • Ability to work in the field daily, primarily on Staten Island

    Compensation:

    • Base salary in the 110k – 130k/year range
