    Description:

    Custom Produce Sales is a Fresh Produce Consolidator\Distributor generating over $100M in annual sales revenue primarily in the Food Service industry.

    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Controller with the goal to promote to the Controller position on or before March 31, 2026.

    Reporting to the Controller, the Assistant Controller will play a critical role overseeing our financial operations, working closely across departments to support accurate and timely financial information, and train with the current Controller to prepare for assumption of the Controller duties.

    Responsibilities:

    • Oversight and management of Accounting, Finance, and Human Resources including 11 staff.
    • Cash management and banking operations. Monitor cash flow and manage working capital.
    • Personnel management and annual performance evaluations
    • Work closely with HR regarding personnel issues if and when they materialize.
    • Work closely with Corporate Accountant on monthly, quarterly and annual closing procedures and Financial Statement preparation.
    • Perform Year-end activities including requested schedules, analysis, and research.
    • Coordinate with external financial auditors. Currently FYE 2023 and 2024 are being audited.
    • Assist in the pending migration from Famous ERP to the Corporate Parent Company (CPC) NetSuite ERP in coming months.
    • Assist in preparation for the future Initial Public Offering (IPO) of the CPC.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
    • Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of accounting experience in Public Accounting and Private Industry preferably in produce, with proven experience as a Controller in a similar role. CPA Certificate a Plus.
    • Strong audit and analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Practical working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), financial statement reporting, auditing, and accounting processes and transactions.
    • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration among all departments.

    Preferred Skills and Competencies

    • Famous accounting ERP system experience a plus.
    • NetSuite accounting ERP system experience a plus.
    • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and other Microsoft Office applications.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines, work well under pressure.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent people skills.

    Compensation - From $150,000 per year, commensurate with experience
