Global Aerospace manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join the team in Los Angeles, CA. This is a key role supports the Controller in overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, with a strong emphasis on cost accounting, inventory reporting, and financial planning.
Responsibilities:
- Perform day-to-day Cost Accounting activities.
- Oversee general accounting functions including fixed assets, intercompany transactions, and financial reporting.
- Coordinate and perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliations.
- Assist in the development of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis and reporting to support management decisions.
- Monitor and report on inventory levels, standard cost updates, and cost rolls.
- Serve as a business partner to the operations leadership team, providing financial insights and support.
- Prepare packages for monthly and quarterly reviews.
- Support and respond to ad hoc requests from the business unit and corporate leadership.
- Assist in internal, financial, and government audits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution, preferred in Finance or Business discipline
- 7+ years directly related work experience - standard cost system and manufacturing; preferred aerospace experience
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility is required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
- CPA or CMA preferred
- Some supervisory experience
- QAD/MFG Pro/Oracle experience
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suites
