Assistant Controller – Manufacturing

Join a growing manufacturing firm committed to operational excellence and precision. As they scale, they're seeking an Assistant Controller to support their Controller.
You’ll work cross-functionally with operations, production, and supply chain teams, and collaborate with external consultants to align their financial practices with best-in-class standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Controller in managing all accounting operations, including cost accounting, revenue recognition, and internal reporting
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of GAAP-compliant practices, with a focus on ASC 606
- Lead month-end close processes, account reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements
- Develop and maintain cost structures, standard costing models, and project-based financial reporting
- Partner with a third-party manufacturing CFO consultant to ensure audit readiness and system alignment
- Translate manufacturing activity into meaningful financial data using Visual, Synaptex, and Excel
- Work with operations to capture accurate data from BOMs, POs, work orders, and inventory flows
- Provide cost and margin analysis to inform strategic decisions
- Serve as a financial advisor to internal teams, providing clarity and accountability across departments
- Help scale systems and procedures to match company growth
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred
- 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of GAAP, with hands-on experience in ASC 606 compliance
- Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems like Visual, Synaptex, or similar platforms
- Experience with job costing, BOMs, and manufacturing workflows
- Comfortable working independently in a lean team environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams

Compensation: $110,000 - $130,000
