    • Must be minimum manager level with heavy manufacturing accounting experience coupled with SOX (no straight private).

    • Ideally leading multiple manufacturing clients with inventory management.

    • Must have excellent communication skills as dealing with sub owners, engineers, ops and senior mgt.

    • Knowledge of ASC 805 (Valuations in Business Combinations)

    A fast-growing and highly funded VC backed defense manufacturing company in South Bay Los Angeles is hiring for an experienced Senior Accounting Manager / Assistant Controller with manufacturing expertise. This role will support the Controller with implementing accounting processes, manage accounting operations, and oversee cost accounting. Big 4/Mid-tier CPA combo experience highly preferred.

    *$170-$200K in Base Salary

    *5 days/week onsite

    Senior Accounting Manager (at least 2 yrs as AM or equivalent) or Assistant Controller (at least 2 yrs Senior AM or equivalent

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Assist the Controller in implementing an accounting infrastructure that consolidates multiple entities and can seamlessly integrate new acquisitions
    • Assist in implementing proper accounting processes and procedures, with ability to get Company audit-ready
    • Assist in developing and maintaining internal controls and policies to ensure compliance and data integrity
    • Develop cost accounting systems from the ground up at newly acquired subsidiaries.
    • Liaise with operations and engineering teams to conduct cost inventory analysis and management reporting
    • Oversee operational cost accounting to ensure accurate product costing, inventory tracking, and reporting frameworks that improve operational transparency and financial decision-making.
    • Partner closely with the Controller and Head of Finance to implement automation tools and modernize financial operations across multiple manufacturing environments.
    • Assist the Controller in monthly close, consolidation, financial reporting, and other ad-hoc analyses/reporting.

    Qualifications:

    • BS in Accounting
    • CPA required
    • Combo public/private highly preferred
    • Minimum Experience at least 2 years as Manager either in Audit and/or industry
    • Strong understanding of standard cost, variance analysis, and inventory accounting
    • Experience with accounting and ERP systems
    • Ability to synthesize operational data into accurate cost structures
    • Comfortable working with engineers, operators, and production managers to collect and validate inputs
    • Aerospace & Defense experience is a plus
    • Must be US Citizen for regulatory purposes
    • Strong analytical judgment and attention to detail
    • Proficient in Excel and operational reporting
