    Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and energetic Assistant Daycare Teacher to join our team! You will be responsible for encouraging children’s intellectual, psychological, and physical growth. The ideal candidate is nurturing, patient, and creative.     The Assistant Teacher helps and assists the lead teacher in planning and implementing the daily program at all times. They may be in charge of a group of children in the absence of a lead teacher.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Must be at least 18 years of age.

    Must have a minimum of an AA degree, or actively enrolled in school, working towards this.

    Must have a North Carolina Early Childhood Credential (NCECC) or be enrolled in the NCECC course work (teachers must enroll within 6 months of being hired and will have 18 months from their date hire to satisfy the NCECC requirement.)

    Must have CPR and First Aid training or obtain them within the first 3 months of employment.

    Previous experience as a daycare teacher or childcare provider

    Strong understanding of child development

    Patient, kind, and nurturing

    Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Must be on time for work daily.

    Responsible for a complete working knowledge of NC Child Care Rules and Regulations required by the state and policies of the center.

    Responsible for assisting the lead teacher and other staff in implementing a developmentally appropriate learning environment.

    Responsible for maintaining a safe and sanitary environment.

    Must help the lead teacher by completing routine care needs of the children in a safe and sanitary manner.

    Communicate effectively with staff/parents and greet parents at drop off and pick up.

    The Board requires all staff members to assist with fundraising whenever possible to ensure that the school remains financially viable.

    Plan/ play games and activities that are developmentally appropriate

    Provide basic care and caregiving activities

    Evaluate children to ensure they are reaching developmental milestone

    Substitute in classes as needed and/or directed by the Director.

    Help with and ensure that all laundry, dishes, and cleaning duties are done properly and completed daily
