    Assistant Director — Early Learning School

    Children’s Lighthouse of Chantilly | Chantilly, VA Full-Time | In-Person

    Children’s Lighthouse of Chantilly is hiring an experienced Assistant Director to support daily operations, teacher leadership, family communication, licensing compliance, and school systems. This is not an entry-level role. We are looking for a strong, experienced school administrator. The right person is warm with families, steady with teachers, strong with systems, and serious about follow-through.

    Responsibilities

    Support daily operations, staffing, ratios, opening/closing, and classroom coverage

    Maintain and improve school systems, trackers, checklists, calendars, and follow-up processes

    Ensure staff use established systems consistently

    Support licensing compliance, documentation, inspections, and policy follow-through

    Coach teachers with empathy, clarity, and accountability

    Communicate professionally with families and handle concerns appropriately

    Support tours, enrollment follow-up, and family relationships

    Assist with classroom observations, teacher feedback, and behavior guidance

    Step into Director duties when the Director is unavailable

    Required Qualifications

    Minimum 5 years of early childhood administration, school administration, childcare leadership, or related admin leadership experience

    Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, Psychology, Business Administration, or related field strongly preferred

    Prior Assistant Director, Director, Program Coordinator, Operations Lead, Curriculum Lead, or similar leadership experience strongly preferred

    Strong systems, documentation, organization, and follow-through skills

    Experience with licensing compliance, staff supervision, and parent communication

    Must meet Virginia childcare employment requirements, including background checks
