Creative World School in Cypress TX is seeking an experienced, motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Director to help lead our vibrant early childhood education community. If you're ready to help shape the future of our young learners and lead a dynamic team, we'd love to hear from you!
The ideal candidate will have:
At least 5 years of professional experience in Early Childhood setting
A minimum of 3 years of recent Leadership experience
Proven experience with children ages 6 weeks- 12 years
An AA degree, CDA, Bachelor's or Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Good physical and mental health
A positive, warm and enthusiastic attitude

Creative World Assistant Director helps foster a loving, nurturing and engaging learning environment while supporting compliance with Creative World policies and state licensing regulations.
Environment & Safety
Ensure a safe and stimulating environment for all children
Ensure children are supervised at all times, maintaining proper ratios and attentive care
Oversee classroom documentation and ensure timely, accurate recordkeeping, including daily sheets, transition sheets, medication forms, assessments, and incident/accident reports
Support staff in understanding and implementing Creative World’s educational philosophy, policies, and all licensing regulations
Children and Families
Greet the children and their families warmly and enthusiastically each day
Foster strong, positive, and consistent communication with families, both informally and formally
Encourage ongoing family involvement and maintain cooperative, respectful relationships with each child’s family
Curriculum
Model and mentor developmentally appropriate, child-centered practices that support children’s physical, emotional, intellectual, and social growth
Support and guide staff in planning and implementing an inquiry-based curriculum that nurtures curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving
Oversee classroom curriculum documentation, including displays, photos, and project work
Ensure ongoing observation, assessment, and portfolio development in supervised classrooms
Promote positive behavior guidance strategies and consistent classroom routines
Monitor and document significant child and teacher behaviors
Manage classroom supply ordering and distribution
Staff Development & Supervision
Lead with a collaborative and team-focused mindset; communicate clearly and supportively with staff
Train and support teachers in lesson planning and curriculum implementation; review weekly lesson plans for alignment and quality
Ensure compliance with all school policies, licensing requirements, and health and safety regulations in supervised classrooms
Participate in interviewing and onboarding new teaching staff as needed
Support the evaluation, goal setting, and ongoing coaching of supervised staff. Provide timely, constructive feedback and promote professional growth
Professionalism & Collaboration
Demonstrate professional, ethical, and responsible conduct at all times
Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, staff, and school matters
Actively pursue professional development through workshops, trainings, and conferences
Attend and contribute to staff meetings, school events, and community initiatives
Communicate concerns and observations with the Director or Leadership Team as appropriate
Step in as needed to assist with classroom or custodial responsibilities
Adapt to a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the school
Work independently with sound judgment and minimal supervision
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Maintain visual and auditory awareness of children and classroom activities at all times
Stay calm and emotionally regulated under pressure or in emergencies
Routinely lift up to 40 pounds, move classroom furniture, sit on the floor or child-sized furniture, and engage in active supervision throughout the day
Work in close proximity to children who may be unwell or contagious
Be prepared to respond to accidents or emergencies promptly and professionally
