    Job Description: The Assistant Director of the JD Fuller Recreational Athletic Complex is a demanding position that requires an individual possessing extensive managerial and administrative proficiencies. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to focus on developing community-oriented programs, coordinating complex events, and providing professional supervision to staff personnel. Assigned duties will be performed in direct association with the manager/director of the Recreation Athletic Center.

    Duties And Responsibilities:

    Plan and develop a diverse array of recreational and community-based programs.

    Create professional promotional materials in support of organized special events.

    Develop and execute comprehensive outreach and marketing plans.

    Manage facility bookings and prepare formal after-action reports.

    Coordinate day-to-day facility operations, which includes prioritizing projects, assigning tasks, and monitoring and responding to citizen inquiries and complaints.

    Coordinate activities with external community organizations to provide activities to the public.

    Supervise full-time, part-time, and volunteer staff personnel in the performance of their assigned duties and responsibilities.

    Perform other duties as formally assigned by the manager/director.

    Education And Experience:

    A bachelor’s degree is preferred; an associate degree is the minimum requirement.

    Significant, relevant professional experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.

    Possession of strong computer skills and extensive knowledge of standard software applications is required.

    Familiarity with standard office equipment, including copy and fax machines.

    Demonstrated administrative and clerical experience associated with filing and record keeping.

    Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.

    Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to function effectively as a member of a team.

    The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

    Possession of strong organizational and time management skills.

    A commitment to providing exceptional customer service.

    The ability to perform public relations work on behalf of the JD Fuller, Sr, Recreational Athletic Complex.

    Physical Requirements:

    Must be able to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods of time.

    Must be able to ascend and descend stairs.

    Must be able to lift, carry, or drag objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
