Assistant Director Of Engineering - Hotel
The Renaissance Baltimore Harbor Place Hotel is hiring an Assistant Director of Engineering. This is a great opportunity for an experienced hotel engineering leader looking to join a fast paced hotel. The Assistant Director of Engineering for a hotel supports the Director in managing daily maintenance operations, ensuring safety compliance (life-safety systems, HVAC, plumbing, electrical), and implementing preventative maintenance programs. Key duties include leading staff, managing budgets/inventories, and ensuring guest comfort by overseeing repairs and renovations. Responsibilities: • Operations Leadership: Supervises daily engineering operations, staff scheduling, and training. • Maintenance & Technical Management: Oversees HVAC, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, boiler systems, and property repairs. • Preventative Maintenance: Implements and manages preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime. • Compliance & Safety: Ensures adherence to building codes, safety standards (OSHA/ADA), and life-safety systems (fire safety). • Financial & Administrative: Assists with budget planning, inventory control of parts/equipment, and managing vendor contracts. • Guest Service: Interacts with guests to resolve maintenance issues promptly. Qualifications: • Experience: 3–5 years in hotel engineering, building maintenance, or facilities management, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role. • Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) and technical, hands-on repair skills. • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field is often preferred. • Attributes: Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Compensation: $100,000 - $110,000 yearly
