    The Renaissance Baltimore Harbor Place Hotel is seeking an Assistant Director of Engineering, an excellent opportunity for an experienced hotel engineering professional to join a fast-paced environment. In this role, the Assistant Director of Engineering supports the Director by overseeing daily maintenance operations, ensuring compliance with safety standards (including life-safety systems, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical), and implementing preventative maintenance programs. Key responsibilities include leading and mentoring the engineering team, managing budgets and inventories, and maintaining guest comfort through the oversight of repairs, renovations, and facility improvements. Responsibilities: • Operations Leadership: Supervises daily engineering operations, staff scheduling, and training. • Maintenance & Technical Management: Oversees HVAC, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, boiler systems, and property repairs. • Preventative Maintenance: Implements and manages preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime. • Compliance & Safety: Ensures adherence to building codes, safety standards (OSHA/ADA), and life-safety systems (fire safety). • Financial & Administrative: Assists with budget planning, inventory control of parts/equipment, and managing vendor contracts. • Guest Service: Interacts with guests to resolve maintenance issues promptly. Qualifications: • Experience: 3–5 years in hotel engineering, building maintenance, or facilities management, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role. • Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) and technical, hands-on repair skills. • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field is often preferred. • Attributes: Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Compensation: $80,000 - $90,000 yearly
