Who we are:
Eureka Valley Arts is an art-centered childcare facility Newly located in the Mission on Valencia. We provide an art based after-school program focused on Elementary school age children. During the year we offer full day Summer and Winter Camps. Eureka Valley Arts aims to provide an artistic safe haven for all nearby kids. It’s important that kids and staff feel seen, heard, respected, and safe. At Eureka Valley Arts we support people of all gender identity, sexuality, race, and personal identity. Classroom Maintenance
Maintains classroom equipment, work areas, student files/records for the purpose of ensuring availability of items, providing reliable information and/or ensuring a safe and sanitary environment.
Carries out Health & Safety Checklist; corrects and identifies deficiencies. Perform minor repairs and maintenance in the classroom, as needed. Reports major repairs to supervisor.
Cleans facilities, equipment, refrigerator and playground area for the purpose of ensuring a safe and sanitary environment.
Assist in keeping labeled classroom areas and objects.
Responsible to take the initiative to rotate a variety of materials on low open shelves for children to use independently.
Set-up and serves meals and snacks for the purpose of meeting nutritional needs of students. Checks and signs for food and food service supplies when they are delivered, if an assistant teacher or floater teacher is not available.
Check the temperature of food delivery, log the temperature and follow procedure for heating and storage of food according to MNC’s policies and procedures.
Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution. Assist in the maintenance of equipment and emergency supplies.

Safety
Maintain personal safety, use personal protection equipment (PPE) and follow Company policies.
Report all and any safety issues, accidents or injuries to your manager as a matter of priority.
Use safety walk and carry one child at a time up and down stairs.

Partner with supervisor when necessary to address department issues or concerns.
POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education: BA Degree with an emphasis in Early Childhood Development (ECD) or related field.
Experience: 5+ years in a preschool and/or elementary classroom setting (preferred). 3+ years of program management; 3+ years of supervisory experience mentoring, coaching and training of staff; 3+ years community-based experience in a setting working with families and community organizations who have experienced poverty, crisis, trauma, and other adverse events.
Must have a 16-hour certification in training and experience in the principles of child health, safety and nutrition. Experience implementing Creative Curriculum for Preschool and PITC and/or project-based curricula preferred. Current or Previous Head Start Parent, preferred.
Requirements:
State of California Child Development Site Supervisor or Program Director Level Permit, preferred.
Fingerprinting Clearance (DOJ & FBI)
Clearance of Child Abuse Index (CACI)
Current Physical Health Screening (every 2 years thereafter)
Current CPR & First Aid Certificate (every 2 years thereafter)
Must be registered with the Early Care & Education Workforce Registry

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to sit approximately 40% of the time, walk 20% of the time and stand 40% of the time. The employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers to type or handle, feel, and operate objects. The employee is required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. Must be able to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, crawl and work with children on the floor for extended periods of time. The employee is frequently required to speak and listen. Specific vision abilities of this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
