We are seeking a dynamic Assistant Director of Food & Beverage to join our team. A successful candidate will have a genuine passion for the hospitality industry and an entrepreneurial spirit.
Responsibilities
Must be courteous and gracious, maintaining a professional demeanor at all times
Establish and maintain good communications and teamwork with fellow colleagues and other departments within the hotel
Maintain “open door” communication with employees
Uphold the highest standards of hospitality and service, constantly monitoring guest experience
Create and develop training programs with the goal of constant improvement, both at the individual and group level
Lead daily operational presence and guest experience execution at Arlo Grey.
Partner with culinary leadership to maintain service flow, culture, and overall hospitality philosophy.
Oversee beverage program development and consistency across outlets, including menu innovation, costing, team education and vendor relationships.
Ensure operational excellence across dining spaces with particular emphasis on Arlo Grey, while supporting standards and consistency across all F&B venues.
Assist in developing new and analyze existing procedures that will improve guest patronage under the guidelines of Company’s policies
Handles guest complaints in the restaurant area
Inspect and taste prepared foods to maintain quality standards and sanitation regulations
Participate in decision making and financial responsibility of Food & Beverage Program
Participate in weekly departmental meetings
Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, memos and verbal instructions
Control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, and inventory and cash control
Assist Director of F&B in interviewing, selecting, training, guiding, managing and scheduling personnel
Monitor and develop employee performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision, conducting counseling, evaluations, setting annual goals and delivering recognition and reward
Ensure staff understands their job expectations before holding them accountable
Maintain awareness of documentation needed and retained in employee files
Core Competencies
Degree in hospitality preferred
At least 3 years as a F&B department head
At least 3 years in a hands on hospitality management role, supervising employees
Strong ability in using MS Office (MS Excel, MS Word in particular) and POS systems
Have a working basic knowledge of employment-related federal and state laws
Strong organizational and time management skills in a fast-paced environment
Positive leader who sets a good example
Ability to train and supervise managers
Have patience and integrity
Ability to make evaluative judgments and give constructive criticism
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English Language
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to multitask
Work well under pressure, requires being a team player
