Job Description: The Assistant General Manager (AGM) plays a leadership role at Past Times Arcade, supporting the General Manager in day-to-day operations, people management, financial oversight, and guest experience. The ideal candidate is energetic, organized, hospitality-minded, and capable of leading teams while juggling a fast-paced and dynamic environment. This is a full-time, on-site leadership position requiring availability on nights, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with the General Manager to execute daily arcade, food, beverage, and event operations
Lead and develop frontline staff with a focus on training, motivation, performance management, and accountability
Ensure exceptional customer service standards are upheld across all departments
Oversee opening and closing procedures, inventory controls, cleanliness, and safety compliance
Manage scheduling, shift coverage, and team communication tools
Monitor daily financial performance including sales, labor cost, and expense tracking
Partner on marketing and promotional initiatives to drive foot traffic and event bookings
Assist with private event planning, execution, and follow-up
Help coordinate vendor relationships, maintenance requests, and supply ordering
Serve as acting manager in the absence of the GM
Hire, train, and retain staff; promote positive employee relations and staff morale
Maintain compliance with food safety, alcohol service, OSHA, and other relevant policies
Participating in revenue meetings, audits, and performance evaluations
Resolve guest complaints and service recovery issues promptly
Qualifications
Associate’s degree in business, hospitality, or related field
2+ years of experience in hospitality, entertainment, or restaurant management role
Strong leadership presence with the ability to direct teams with clarity and fairness
Financial literacy and comfort with POS systems, scheduling software, and reporting tools
Proactive communicator and problem solver with a high sense of urgency
Ability to work autonomously and take initiative in a hands-on environment
Familiarity with arcade or amusement operations is a plus
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand/walk for long periods
