About the Role:

Courtyard by Marriott in Shelton, CT is looking for a dynamic and driven Assistant General Manager to help lead our team and elevate the guest experience. Responsibilities:

Support the General Manager in overseeing daily hotel operations across all departments

Lead, coach, and develop front desk, housekeeping, and food & beverage teams to deliver exceptional guest service

Monitor and manage budgets, labor costs, and revenue performance metrics

Ensure compliance with Marriott brand standards, policies, and procedures

Handle guest escalations and resolve complaints with professionalism and urgency

Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and training hotel staff

Oversee scheduling and manage day-to-day staffing needs to optimize hotel performance

Requirements:

2+ years of hotel management or assistant management experience, preferably with a branded property

Prior Marriott or major hotel brand experience strongly preferred

Strong knowledge of hotel operations including front office, housekeeping, and F&B

Proficiency in property management systems (PMS); experience with Marriott systems a plus

Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills

Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred
