EBERLY is seeking an Assistant General Manager PLEASE REFERENCE REQUIRED EXPERIENCE PRIOR TO APPLYING
Within Eberly you’ll discover a total of four bars, two regularly open to the public and two located in private dining spaces. Our dining room offers contemporary American cuisine, along with a study, a rooftop terrace, a hidden speakeasy, and the historic Cedar Tavern bar of Greenwich Village in New York City. Overall Responsibility:
To assist and support in the development of the management team and the services we provide while bridging communication between hourly staff and the general manager. To contribute to the overall success of the business and maximize sales while controlling costs. Constantly ensuring a quality and positive workspace while holding staff to Eberly standards.
Financials:
Analyze operational statements and period budgets to ensure we are making appropriate financial decisions
Keeping labor / COGS percentages in line by adjusting with volume
Identify creative activations that are profitable and on brand
Overseeing payroll to ensure employees are paid accurately and on schedule while maintaining compliance with company policies and financial regulations
Auditing direct operating costs to ensure proper categorization for purchasing
Kitchen:
Providing feedback for anticipated dishes
Working closely with the chef team to provide feedback, but also assist on making their department run smoothly when directly impacted by service
Communicating event BEO’s and ensuring alignment between FOH & BOH
Tracking comps that can be reviewed for improvement of dishes
Menu matrix updates
Expo knowledge aligned with kitchen practices
Events:
Review and Pre-shift of BEO’s with the staff
Knowing and understanding the details of events that are current and upcoming
Assisting in the execution of events
Accurately matching financials that the events team provide
Offering tours to guests in place of events team
Assisting in the planning of internal events such as NYE, Rosé Soiree which are typically leaded by the FOH management team
Beverage:
Overseeing and assisting departments in charge of LBW
Creating positive and beneficial relationships with vendors
General:
Inspiring and cultivating a high performing, engaged team
Understanding and assisting in the creation of the weekly schedule for hourly staff written by the operations manager
Signing and writing checks
Highly proficient in reservation systems and booking platforms
Updating all operational systems (Toast, Asana, etc.)
Website management for menu updates, closures, events, etc.
Assistance in hiring of all positions
Advanced working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word
Conducting employee reviews and evaluations
Scheduling department meetings
Maintaining an accurate training manual for new FOH staff
Creating and maintaining standard operating procedures
Maintain the cleanliness of the restaurant
Hold staff and management accountable and ensuring follow through on ideas and projects
Managing floor service, running pre-shift and making sure the restaurant is set properly daily
Ability to manage repairs and maintenance by sourcing competitive quotes and ensuring timely completion of work
Responsible for maintaining all required permits and ensuring ongoing regulatory compliance
Addressing staff relations and HR matters proactively, including conflict resolution, policy guidance, and team support
Contributing to the preparation of evening summary reports shared with managers, chefs, and ownership
Opening and closing duties
Openness and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, analytics, operational efficiency, and reporting accuracy
Shift operations that include but are not limited to comps, cuts, managing the books, supporting busy departments, delegating closing responsibilities, guest interaction, tours of the space, event management, etc.
Education/Experience
Minimum of 4 years of management experience in upscale hospitality
Knowledge of the Austin food and beverage landscape and hospitality community
