    The Assistant General Manager (AGM) provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure the hotel consistently delivers exceptional guest experiences, strong financial performance, and a positive, growth‑oriented workplace culture. This role supports the General Manager in all aspects of hotel operations and assumes full leadership responsibility in their absence.

    The AGM champions brand standards, drives team development, fosters productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and ensures smooth, efficient departmental operations. This position also requires working regularly scheduled departmental shifts as business needs dictate.

    People Development and Leadership

    · Oversee daily hotel operations to ensure service excellence, efficiency, and adherence to brand standards.

    · Support department leaders in achieving operational goals and resolving challenges.

    · Maintain a visible presence throughout the property to engage guests and team members.

    · Lead, mentor, and motivate team members to achieve performance and service goals.

    · Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management.

    · Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative work environment that encourages accountability and growth.

    · Provide operational coverage and leadership support across departments, including covering the hotel in the event of employee call‑outs to ensure continuity of service and smooth daily operations

    Financial Performance

    · Assist in managing budgets, forecasting, and financial reporting.

    · Identify opportunities to maximize revenue and control costs without compromising guest satisfaction.

    · Monitor key performance indicators and implement strategies to improve results.

    Guest Experience

    · Ensure delivery of memorable, high‑quality guest experiences across all touchpoints.

    · Respond to guest concerns with professionalism, urgency, and a solutions‑focused approach.

    · Promote a culture of hospitality, service recovery, and continuous improvement.

    Brand & Relationship Management

    · Uphold and execute brand standards consistently across all departments.

    · Build strong relationships with guests, team members, vendors, and group contacts.

    · Represent the hotel professionally in all interactions and community engagements.

    Acting General Manager

    · Serve as the property’s primary leader in the General Manager’s absence.

    · Make operational and strategic decisions aligned with hotel goals and brand expectations.

    · Ensure continuity of leadership, communication, and service standards.

    Qualifications

    · Proven success in hotel operations, including experience in a supervisory or department head role.

    · Working knowledge of core business functions such as operations, sales, accounting, and human resources.

    · Demonstrated leadership ability with a track record of motivating teams and upholding high service standards.

    · Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

    · Effective time‑management skills, ensuring timely completion of tasks and operational goals.

    · Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with experience resolving guest concerns and supporting employee relations.
