Your Role: Assistant General Manager You’ll oversee the day-to-day operations of the swim school, making sure everything runs safely, smoothly, and up to Goldfish standards. You’ll lead staff, support families, and keep the facility operating at a high level while fostering a fun and positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily school operations according to Goldfish Swim School’s Standard Operating Procedures
Support the General Manager and department managers with class scheduling, student progress tracking, and customer service
Lead and manage the team to ensure high performance, team morale, and exceptional service
Assist in recruiting, training, and mentoring new staff
Maintain a high standard of swim instruction and staff preparedness
Plan and lead staff events and employee engagement activities
Support sales and marketing initiatives
Help manage retail and vending areas, including inventory and pricing decisions
Troubleshoot and maintain pool operations, ensuring safety and cleanliness standards are met
Train and implement emergency procedures and oversee the Emergency Action Plan
Maintain current certifications and stay up to date on industry best practices
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required. Bachelors degree or higher preferred
2+ years of experience in a management/supervisory position required.
Experience as either a certified lifeguard, swim instructor, youth sports coach, camp counselor, or childcare provider required
Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid, AED, and Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certifications or willingness to obtain required.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus but not required.
Enthusiastic, positive, and committed to creating a safe, engaging learning environment
Work Environment: While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to heat and humidity. Noise level is usually moderate.
