We are looking for a talented assistant general manager to oversee and supervise the front desk, back office, housekeeping, breakfast service, guest service agents, and night auditors for the Hampton Inn located in Oakhurst, California. The assistant general manager directs all of the hotel's guest services activities, including the front office, reservations, housekeeping, maintenance, and night audit. Responsibilities: • The assistant general manager will adhere to all hotel and department policies and procedures. Implement company policies and assist with updating company policies. • Be knowledgeable of the information contained in circulated management reports and financial statements. • Generate the required reports at the required frequency. • Supervise the maintenance of records on hotel supplies so that inventories are always maintained at a level to achieve guest satisfaction and efficient operations. • Direct the revenue maximization activities of the front desk to achieve the maximum potential room revenue each day. • Assure the maintenance of complete, organized, and accurate files of past guest transactions, including folios, registration cards, credit-card vouchers, and other documents. • Maintain departmental expenses within budget limitations, except as approved in advance by the general manager. • Represent the hotel with enthusiasm, professionalism, and a businesslike appearance and demeanor to all hotel guests, clients, prospective clients, agents, and the community. • Be knowledgeable about all important hotel features, amenities, and services. • Available to work A, B, and C shifts if required. • Maintain good working relationships with all hotel employees. Supervisory Responsibilities • Provide guidance and feedback to subordinates in order to improve their work performance. • Recruit, hire, orient, train, and supervise capable employees in the positions of guest service agent, night auditor, and breakfast. • Supervise all front desk and night-audit activities to assure the highest level of friendly and professional guest service. • Assure that all financial controls are strictly followed. • Ensure the presence of well-trained staff on the issues of safety, security, and emergency procedures. • Adhere to other responsibilities and duties as required and assigned by management. Qualifications: • Education: High school degree with some college or equivalent formal education. • Language Skills: Command of oral and written use of the English language. Good group presentation abilities. • Equipment Skills: Able to use personal computers with general knowledge of computer word processing, spreadsheets, and database management. Able to use calculators, multi-button telephones, and general office equipment. • Personal Skills and Characteristics: High degree of leadership skills, including team building and motivation. High degree of communication and organization skills. Professional demeanor and attire. Good initiative and work habits. Flexible schedule. • Work Experience: Has experience as a hotel front-desk employee and previous hotel supervisory experience. • Physical Requirements: Able to safely lift and carry 40 pounds for the purpose of assisting with guest-room setups, handling guest luggage, evacuating hotel guests, and performing other emergency procedures. Able to work standing for several hours per day. Able to lift, bend, kneel, and reach. Compensation: $68,640
