About the Role: The Assistant Manager helps run daily operations, leads the crew, and supports the General Manager in delivering an outstanding customer experience. This role ensures high standards in customer service, food quality, cleanliness, and team performance. Ideal for someone looking to grow into a Store Manager position.
Responsibilities:
Assist with opening and/or closing the store
Lead shift operations including food prep, slicing, grilling, and customer service
Ensure food safety, sanitation, and health code compliance
Maintain product quality and order accuracy during peak hours
Manage cash handling, deposits, and shift paperwork
Train and coach team members on Jersey Mike’s procedures and standards
Help with scheduling and staffing needs
Resolve customer issues professionally and maintain strong guest relationships
Perform inventory counts, ordering, and waste control
Support hiring efforts and participate in interviews
Maintain a positive, energetic, team-focused environment
Qualifications:
1+ years of supervisor or leadership experience (food service preferred but not required)
Ability to lead a team of 20–25 employees
Strong communication and people skills
Ability to multitask and remain calm during rushes
Reliable, punctual, and organized
Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs
Weekend and holiday availability required
