    Assistant Manager – Black Lion Cafe

    About the Role Black Lion Cafe is looking for a reliable, hands-on Assistant Manager to support daily operations and help lead the team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys both management responsibilities and working directly on the floor.

    Responsibilities Operations & Leadership

    Support the General Manager with daily store operations

    Lead shifts and ensure smooth, efficient workflow

    Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training new team members

    Maintain a positive, motivated team environment

    Barista & Cashier Duties

    Make high-quality espresso and coffee beverages according to our standards

    Work the register, handle customer orders, and provide excellent service

    Jump in on bar, cashier, or floor support whenever needed

    Inventory & Ordering

    Check inventory levels daily/weekly

    Place supply and product orders on schedule

    Track usage to minimize waste and ensure proper stock

    Scheduling & Administration

    Assist with creating weekly schedules

    Communicate shift changes, coverage needs, and staffing updates

    Support store reporting and basic administrative tasks

    Store Standards

    Ensure cleanliness and organization throughout the cafe

    Uphold Black Lion Cafe’s service standards and brand atmosphere

    Monitor quality control of drinks, food, and customer experience

    Requirements

    Previous experience in coffee, food service, or hospitality

    Leadership or shift-lead experience preferred

    Strong multitasking, communication, and problem-solving skills

    Ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

    Barista experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person
