Salary Range: $116,000-130,000k Depending on Experience

Job Description Summary
The Assistant Manager, Environmental Compliance, maintains EPA, CARB and ECCC emission standards compliance. Inform Kubota staff, OEMs, and Distributors about emissions regulations. Answers questions from OEMs and Distributors regarding emissions. This position also maintains and manages a variety of compliance areas such as chemical regulations and compliance, product safety and related compliance. And, the Assistant Manager, Environmental Compliance leads team on all emissions certification, regulatory work, day-to-day compliance, chemical & materials compliance activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manages EPA and CARB submissions on Kubota engines and parts. Communicates status of all EPA and CARB submission with Kubota Japan
Communicate with EMA as a core member of EMA
Maintains a variety of compliance areas such as chemical regulations and compliance, product safety and related compliance.
Leads the regulatory & compliance activities, researching new trends, regulations and policies by the Federal and local governments. Share the information / summary with the stakeholders within the company.
Cooperating with Kubota Japan in establishing a global compliance system for exhaust emissions regulations
Clarify EPA, CARB and ECCC regulations and standards. Communicates regulations and standards with Kubota Japan, KEA staff, KNA emission staff, OEMs, and Distributors.
Maintain up-to-date understanding of emission regulations for local and international environments
Accumulate and communicate information on products and future developments in emission compliance
Advise customers about technical issues, product performance, and application.
Educate on the importance of emission compliance to KEA internal members distributors and OEMs.
Prepare to conduct EPA’s In-Use test requirement
Audit customers’ production line to confirm their compliance with EPA’s certified configuration
Manage and provide emissions labels and certificates to customers
Responsible for staffing, conducting performance appraisals, addressing employee complaints and resolving employee problems.
Establish work procedures and processes that support company and departmental standards, procedures, and strategic directives
Establishes and communicates a training plan for staff to maintain an up-to-date training force
Create and maintain a high-quality work environment so staff are motivated to perform at their highest level
Develop and maintain team effort within the department that is customer focused
Communicate, organize, and maintain confidential information and material
Follow safety guidelines and department and corporate policies and procedures

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of emission compliance standards and engine testing procedures
Knowledge of various chemical & materials compliance standards and related reporting requirements for the US and other countries that require such compliance standards
Knowledge of the mechanics involved in the operation of gasoline and diesel engines
Knowledge of emission compliance as related to engine operation, testing and bureaucratic procedure
Ability to diagnose engine and component failure in a variety of circumstances with incomplete information
Knowledge of engine design
Ability to listen to customer problems and develop appropriate solutions
Ability to relate technical information to technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to use a variety of tools and test equipment, including dynamometer equipment

Education and Training
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field
3 – 5 years experience as a mechanical engineer; preferably with emission testing experience

Handling of potentially dangerous chemicals or other substances, dangerous equipment, and tools
Work produced is subject to precise measures of quality and quantity
While traveling, will experience noise and comfort levels common to automobiles and airplanes
