    Job Title: Assistant Manager

    Location: Mass Appeal Draught House & Grille Status: Full Time

    Reports to: General Manager

    Salary Range: $55k-$65k per year

    Description/Expectations:

    Hendler Family Brewing Company is reopening its newly renovated taproom at Patriot Place, and we're gearing up for an exciting next chapter. The refreshed space is bigger and better, built to give guests more room to relax, enjoy great beer, and dig into something delicious.

    We're launching a full kitchen program alongside the reopening — a menu built around elevated New England classics — and we're looking for the right people to help bring it to life. This is a ground-floor opportunity to help shape something new, in a space that's growing, and with a team that genuinely cares about doing things well.

    HFBC brews will be pouring, the kitchen will be firing, and we are looking for good people to make it all happen.

    We need a seasoned leader with a passion for creating a strong, positive Team culture and exceptional Guest experience to join our team as Assistant Manager.

    Working under the direction of the General Manager, the Assistant Manager is a leader at the Patriot Place location and within the overall hospitality organization. The successful candidate leads by example and sets the tone and standards for excellence, with a focus on consistently high-quality customer service. They are constantly looking for ways to improve the guest experience through HFBC practices & standard operating procedures. They have a clear understanding of both company and departmental goals and their specific role in achieving those goals.

    Essential Functions and Duties:

    Taproom Operations: Oversee daily opening and closing duties, including cash handling, cleanliness, and restocking to ensure a smooth service

    Beer & Service Quality: Maintain beer freshness and proper serving standards while delivering a welcoming, knowledgeable, and engaging guest experience

    Team Leadership & Training: Lead, train, and support taproom staff, fostering a positive, collaborative, and hospitality-driven culture

    Guest Experience: Greet guests warmly, provide recommendations, assist with orders touch tables, and ensure an outstanding guest experience

    Sales & Inventory: Track sales trends, manage retail and draft inventory, and ensure proper ordering and organization of supplies

    Events & Atmosphere: Help plan and execute private and public events while maintaining an inviting atmosphere with the right music, temperature, and layout

    Compliance & Transactions: Accurately process payments, verify IDs, and ensure responsible alcohol service

    Scheduling & Staffing: Create and manage schedules

    Collaboration & Growth: Work closely with leadership, marketing, and events teams to support the taproom’s success and continuously improve operations.

    Job Requirements:

    High School Diploma or equivalent required

    TIPS and/or ServSafe Certified, Crowd Manager Certified

    Minimum 2+ years hospitality management experience required and brewery experience is a huge plus!

    Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

    Ability to motivate, lead, and develop a strong team and individual team members

    Exceptional time management, multi-tasking & prioritization skills

    Knowledge of POS systems, scheduling software, and office/Google applications

    Demonstrates an eagerness for listening to ideas, questions, and feedback with trust and respect

    Exhibits a strong work ethic and commitment to teamwork

    Exercises discretion in handling and disseminating financial and non-financial information

    Easily flexes and adapts to adjust to sudden changes

    Physical Requirements:

    Ability to lift at least 50 lb

    Ability to stand for extended periods of time

    Continuously reach, bend, lift, carry, stoop and wipe
