Job Description: We are hiring an Assistant Manager to oversee primarily our "back of house" operations in Daycare, Boarding, and Grooming. Prefer 3 years of previous experience working professionally with dogs in a daycare and boarding facility and 2+ years of leading a team of 5+ members. This position will oversee the workflow of staff responsibilities in all departments, and lead the team to successfully take excellent care of the pets we are entrusted reporting directly to the General Manager. About Us: Paw Oasis Pet Resort is a luxury dog boarding and doggie daycare center. We opened our beautiful facility in August of 2021 in The Colony, near the Castle Hills area. This is a one-of-a-kind facility of about 10,000 sq feet and over 30,000 sq feet of play yards with a bone-shaped pool for the dogs. Our company ownership has been involved in the daycare industry for a decade and has the highest standards of pet care, cleanliness, and daily structure. Job Type : Full-time (40+ hours a week) overseeing our pet services (daycare, boarding, grooming). Need availability daily from 6:30 am to 7 pm with a 1-hour lunch. Alternating weekends required, all holidays 1 shift required. Location: 4770 Windhaven Pkway, The Colony TX 75056 Responsibilities: Key Manager Responsibilities: • Staff Management & Training - Responsible for assisting with interviewing, training and development, scheduling, and coaching of team. Upholds accountability of team members daily to policies and procedures and regularly offers feedback to assist in team members' overall growth. Must possess 2 years of staff management to include motivating staff, creating a positive team environment, formally disciplining staff, and upholding facilities policies and procedures. • Safety and Health - Maintain all safety and health procedures throughout the facility. Reports any concerns to the owner and pet parents and offers continuous training of the team in areas regarding the safe play of all dogs in our care. Keeps detailed records and notes of any potential health and/or safety issues. Offers conversations with clients concerning any potential issues with their dog. Manages boarding and daycare cleaning and daycare tasks and is accountable for maintaining efficiency and accuracy of the entire team during the day. • Administrative - Works directly with our clientele in the front office as needed in a reception capacity answering phone calls, scheduling, billing, delivering exceptional customer service, and achieving facility sales goals. Assists in proactively marketing the business to raise revenue and increase repeat clientele. • Customer Service & Presentation - Maintain organization in the facility and cleanliness standards of the entire team. Practices exceptional internal and external customer service consistently. Must have strong customer service skills! • Symbolic Leadership - Leads by example in every decision and action. Maintains accountability and oversight of the facility and team seeking out ways to improve profitability and efficiency toward higher goals. This includes upholding the company values to the highest level of integrity. • Other- Frequent communication with other managers in various contexts, and other key staff members. Comfortable daily completing checklists, logs, data entry, and attention to lots of details. Accepts other tasks as assigned by the owner. Qualifications: Requirements : • Have a minimum of 2 years of direct management experience with a team of 5 or more employees • Have a genuine affinity for dogs; they are the center of our business! • Have knowledge of basic dog behaviors in a dog daycare setting and be willing and able to become an expert; attending the playgroups will be required • Possess strong verbal communication skills and the ability to train and develop teams • Possess strong skills in organization, multi-tasking, and maintaining oversight • Demonstrate proven customer service skills • A passion for leading and coaching staff • Professional and neat appearance in compliance with the dress code • Confident and energetic personality • Strong organizational, staff management, and sales skills • Strong ability to multi-task and time management; work without supervision • Reliable and flexible to Resort needs • Able to handle a variety of animals safely and comfortably • Able to fill any role as needed at the resort • On a frequent basis, requires the ability to stoop, kneel, and crouch • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Demonstrates strong time-management skills and works with a sense of urgency • Enjoys teaching, training, and helping others • Assertive and takes initiative • Upbeat and positive attitude • Gets along with many personalities • High energy and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment • Coach-able and trainable (must be able to take constructive criticism) • Open availability throughout the week and willingness to work holidays (our peak seasons) and weekends • On a regular basis, requires the ability to: walk; reach with hands and stand for a minimum of 6 – 8 hours; and lift and/or move 50 lbs. Other: Flexibility with daily scheduling is required Compensation: $18 - $21 hourly
