    Position: Assistant Manager FLSA Status: Hourly Non-Exempt Reports to: Club Manager Requirements:

    Must submit to a background check consisting of a 7-year criminal history check, social security check and USA Offender search within the first week of hire. Continued employment will be based on satisfactory outcome of the background check.

    Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR/AED Certification within time frames required by company and maintain physical ability to perform CPR/AED in the event of a medical emergency.

    Must obtain Tanning Certification within time frame required by company.

    This position requires employee to work on-site

    Must be able to attend occasional off-site meetings

    SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

    The Assistant Manager plays a key role in supporting the Club Manager with all aspects of club operations, ensuring an exceptional “Judgement Free Zone®” experience for all members. This position helps lead the team, drive membership growth and retention, and maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment in line with Planet Fitness standards.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    The following duties are representative but not all-inclusive. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by management.

    Staff Leadership & Training

    · Support hiring, training, and performance management of team members.

    · Supervise, train, and motivate front desk and cleaning staff to provide excellent member service.

    · Lead by example to promote a positive and team-oriented work environment.

    · Motivate and coach staff to ensure team performance meets company standards.

    · Support staff scheduling and time management.

    Operations & Facility Management

    · Manage all daily club operations, ensuring all areas are clean, safe, and fully functional.

    · Enforce club policies and safety procedures.

    · Assist with scheduling and supervising staff.

    · Perform front desk functions including but not limited to:

    · Answering phones and assisting callers

    · Checking in members and new member sign-ups

    · Conduct tours for prospective members

    · Handling member requests, issues, and questions

    · Support facility cleanliness and maintenance to meet or exceed company standards.

    · Monitor inventory and order supplies as needed.

    · Provide shift coverage as needed for absent employees or staffing purposes

    Member Experience & Customer Service

    · Promote and maintain the “Judgement Free Zone®” philosophy in every interaction.

    · Create a welcoming atmosphere for all members, prospective members and guests.

    · Ensure staff follow superior customer service guidelines.

    · Lead by example in maintaining a clean workspace and encouraging team accountability through positive reinforcement and clear expectations.

    · Resolve member concerns or complaints professionally and promptly.

    · Support a positive, motivating, and inclusive club atmosphere.

    · Maintain a strong presence on the club floor to engage with members and monitor staff performance.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Required:

    · Must be 18 year of age or older.

    · Must be able to work onsite, this is not a remote position

    · Superior customer service skills fitness industry preferred.

    · Strong leadership, communication and conflict resolution skills

    · Hard working, enthusiastic and energetic

    · Strong problem resolution skills

    · Obtain and maintain CPR/AED Certification within required timeframes.

    · Obtain Tanning Certification within company required timeframes.

    Preferred:

    · Previous supervisory or management experience

    · Prior experience working in a club fitness setting

    · Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

    · High School Diploma or Equivalent

Must maintain physical ability to administer CPR in the event of medical emergency.

    Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
