    Job Description

    Universal Studios Hollywood is seeking an experienced Creative Associate Manager to join our Entertainment Creative Development team. Reporting directly to the Creative Director, the Creative Associate Manager will ideally have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in experiential design, themed entertainment, stage, and/or screen work. This position centers on show direction, creative development and strengthens the department’s ability to scale, take on additional assignments, and advance creative work across the portfolio. Core responsibilities include leading assigned projects and assisting the Creative Director through all phases of show development.

    _ Job Duty_ :

    • Creative Development: Collaborate on big-picture vision, guest experience goals, and IP alignment; contribute
    research on fan expectations, park operations, and competitive benchmarking.
    • Pitch & Concepting: Assist in creating pitch materials, concept documents, and guest journey outlines that
    integrate with overall event flow.
    • Story & Script Support: Support the development of treatments that reflects story beats, character arcs, and
    emotional flow. Track script deliverables and timelines and ensure IP approval submissions maintain the creative
    vision and incorporates partner feedback in a way that serves the creative and partner relations.
    • Design & Production Coordination: Support design development across scenic, technical, props, FX, and vendor
    teams; monitor how design and budget choices impact creative intent.
    • Casting & Performance Prep: Contribute to the audition process, outline performer requirements, character
    guidelines, and sides, and provide coaching on characterization, guest interaction, and show direction.
    • Rehearsal Integration: Translate the approved script and scenic layout into an organized blocking plan. Guide
    performer onboarding, including IP accuracy, physical storytelling, pacing, emotional authenticity, and comedic
    timing. Introduce performers and the show quality team to creative expectations and ready the Show Quality
    team for the full run
    • Show Launch, Ongoing Quality & Evolution: Deliver show notes and coaching refreshers during previews and
    early run, track upkeep needs, and integrate guest and performer feedback; collaborate on creative check-ins
    and long-term experience improvements.

    This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.     Qualifications

    • Experience & Portfolio: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in experiential design, themed
    entertainment, stage, and/or screen work, with a strong portfolio showcasing creative concepts and successful
    project execution.
    • Technical Skills: Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools, including Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD,
    SketchUp, and 3D modeling/rendering software; working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    • Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of live entertainment production in a theme park environment, along
    with current trends, technologies, and best practices in themed entertainment and live event production.
    • Communication & Leadership: Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; proven ability to
    pitch creative ideas to senior leadership and stakeholders, gaining buy-in and support.
    • Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing priorities,
    timelines, and resources effectively; self-motivated and proactive with strong analytical skills.
    • Collaboration: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment with a passion for delivering
    exceptional guest experiences.
    • Adaptability: Ability to work independently under pressure, prioritize tasks, and manage changing priorities.
    • Compliance & Availability: Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure
    manuals must be available to work weekends, holidays, and nights as required.
