Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced highly motivated and customer-oriented Assistant Manager to join our team at CHARLOTTE Social Pet Hotel and Daycare, a premier pet care facility offering daycare, lodging, grooming, and training services. As the Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the facility, ensuring high standards of pet care, staff performance, customer service, and operational efficiency. You will assist the Facility Manager in creating a positive, productive environment for both the team and the pets we care for.
Key Responsibilities
Staff Management
- Manage team members in daily tasks ensuring proper delegation of work while meeting daily goals.
- Train, coach, and provide feedback to Associates while addressing and resolving employee concerns or conflicts.
- Ensure that staffing levels are maintained according to business needs.
- Make decisions in the absence of the manager and in line with company policies.
Customer Service
- Maintain high standards of customer service while handling escalated customer issues or complaints.
- Ensure the team follows company protocols to ensure customers receive prompt, courteous and efficient service.
Operational Efficiency
- Oversee daily operations and ensure smooth functioning.
- Ensure the workplace is clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety standards.
- Assist in managing schedules and shifts for optimal coverage.
Sales & Financial Management
- Assist in meeting or exceeding sales targets and KPIs.
- Help manage budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost efficiency.
- Perform cash handling, deposits, and reconciliation procedures while maintaining accurate records of all transactions.
Training & Development
- Provide training for new hires and ongoing development for existing team members.
- Monitor performance and identify areas for improvement.
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly reports on sales, inventory, and staff performance.
- Monitor and enforce safety policies and ensure a safe work environment.
Leadership & Team Morale
- Lead by example and motivate the team to achieve goals.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and productive work culture.
- Meet one on one with associates on a regular schedule to promote open communication.
- Recognize and reward outstanding team performance.
Administrative Duties
- Support the manager in handling paperwork, reports, and other administrative tasks such as: scheduling, payroll and employee records.
- Ensure compliance with all company documentation and filing systems.
Qualifications:Experience:
- Minimum of 2+ years in a supervisory or leadership role in the pet care industry.
- Previous experience working in a pet care facility, such as daycare, grooming, or lodging, is highly desirable.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions independently.
- Basic financial management skills, including cash handling and budget oversight.
- Knowledge of pet care standards, including animal behavior, grooming, and safety protocols.
