**We are conducting a search for an A ssistant Guide for Hala Kahiki Montessori School, the first and only high-fidelity Montessori school on Lāna'i.

In this role, you will help children fulfill their developmental potential in an authentically prepared, exceptionally executed Montessori environment. Assistant Guides are warm, joyful and professional.

While Montessori experience is helpful, it is not required; training will be provided to all successful candidates. It is critical that the Assistant Guide has a growth mindset and is open to having on-going conversations with the Lead Guide on how to best work with children. The Assistant Guide must be an effective, courteous and respectful communicator.

Additional responsibilities may include supporting school-wide events; designing and leading afternoon program activities; and other projects as required. This position is full-time.

Although this is a worldwide search, local candidates with appreciation and understanding of local language, culture, history, and traditions are strongly preferred. Successful candidates are eligible for relocation, housing, and travel benefits.

• Are experienced working with children aged 18 months - 6 years old;
• Have earned an associate's degree in child development OR at least 12 semester credits approved child development/early childhood courses;
• Have at least twelve months' experience working in an early childhood program;
• Are a US citizen or green cardholder; and
• Are available to join our community in summer 2026.

We may prefer you over other candidates if you:

• Live in or grew up in Hawai'i (particularly Lāna'i);
• Have Montessori training or experience working in Montessori schools;
• Have interesting hobbies, skills, and life experiences.
