  • Responsibilities

    Leading Westchester Community Hospital seeks an Assistant Nurse Manager to provide operational and clinical leadership on their Medical/Surgical Unit . This role is accountable for ensuring safe, efficient, and patient-centered care delivery while driving quality outcomes, staff engagement, and regulatory readiness.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide operational and clinical leadership across all shifts to ensure safe, high-quality patient care delivery.
    • Partner with Nursing Leadership to ensure safe staffing, appropriate skill mix, and real-time management of coverage challenges.
    • Lead execution, validation, and follow-through of patient experience, quality, and safety standards.
    • Support hiring, performance evaluation, coaching, and corrective action processes in collaboration with the Nurse Manager.
    • Drive patient flow, throughput, and length-of-stay initiatives while balancing safety, staffing, and experience priorities.
    • Monitor and improve key quality indicators including falls, medication scanning, restraints, hand hygiene, and observation compliance.
    • Conduct patient and employee rounding; provide real-time coaching and service recovery as needed.
    • Maintain regulatory and accreditation readiness through environment-of-care and safety rounds.
    • Partner with Risk, Performance Improvement, Infection Prevention, and interdisciplinary leaders to prevent hospital-acquired conditions and strengthen outcomes.
    • Promote staff engagement, shared governance participation, and ANCC-aligned professional practice standards.

    Qualifications:

    • New York State Licensed Registered Nurse
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
    • Charge nurse experience within an acute care setting required

    Shift:

    • Shift: 3PM – 11PM

    Salary:

    $145,000 - $150,000
