ACHS is seeking an experienced and inspiring Psychology Professor to teach Introduction to Psychology (PSY 101) and Health Psychology (PSY 303) within our accredited online holistic health programs. The ideal candidate will be passionate about integrative health and wellness, skilled in online teaching, and dedicated to helping students understand the psychological foundations of health and human behavior.
In PSY 101 , students explore the study of human behavior through key psychological theories and concepts, including biological foundations, perception, motivation, cognition, learning, emotion, and life-span development. The course emphasizes understanding the whole person—body, mind, and spirit—to support holistic wellness.
In PSY 303 , students examine the intersection between psychology and health, exploring how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence wellness, illness prevention, and recovery. The course emphasizes evidence-based approaches to health promotion, stress management, and behavioral change within a holistic framework.
The successful candidate will bring both academic rigor and real-world application to these subjects, fostering an engaging, learner-centered environment that supports ACHS’s mission to educate the whole person for global holistic health and wellness leadership.
Applicants must have a terminal professional degree with at least 18 hours of coursework in psychology and experience teaching online. These courses are taught using Canvas. Instructors are required to meet weekly on Zoom with their classes.
ACHS is a learner-centric institution, and faculty are integral to the success of ACHS students and the academic integrity of ACHS programs. Faculty are responsible for all instruction in ACHS classes. Faculty use their professional experience and education, coupled with curriculum provided in ACHS-published course materials, required publisher textbooks, and supplemental study aids (such as online videos, botanicals, essential oils, and other lab supplies) to teach the stated learning outcomes.

Education Requirements: To meet all state and accreditation requirements, ACHS requires applicants to have a terminal professional degree in a related field. Due to the specialized nature of curriculum where a terminal degree may not be available, such as aromatherapy, ACHS also considers the following credentials:
Compensation per semester varies by class size and level (undergraduate or graduate). Assistant professor compensation per course begins at $2,163 per semester and is adjusted based on class size and level of course.
