Job Summary
We are a general contractor that works in the commercial and industrial construction industry. We are seeking a hardworking and reliable Assistant Project Manager to join our team and provide full-time support to the Project Manager and CEO. The Assistant Project Manager must be a flexible and adaptable team-player, as well as have strong time management, communication and customer service skills.
Responsibilities
Assist the CEO, Project Manager and Superintendent with assigned projects
Help coordinate and manage the project from inception to completion
Carry out daily operational tasks in an effective and timely manner
Organize, file and maintain all current project documents and logs.
Maintain project management software to ensure field staff have all up-to-date documents and information.
Initiate, prepare, review, track and distribute contracts, change orders, submittals, RFIs, shop drawings etc.
Building and maintaining excellent customer and vendor relationships
Assist in ensuring compliance with necessary specifications
Assist in creating and adhering to job schedules and timelines.
Assist in management of project permit process
Schedule meetings, conference calls and jobsite visits
Tracking and reporting project progress
Attend and/or lead project meetings
Assist with project close-out
Performing other duties assigned by the Project Manager in an orderly and efficient manner
Qualifications
Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in the commercial construction industry
Bachelor’s degree in construction management preferred
Knowledgeable in the field of commercial construction a plus
Knowledge of construction/project management software a plus
Ability to multitask and prioritize as you will be handling multiple projects at the same time
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Organized and detail oriented
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment is a must
Must have excellent communications skills, excellent work ethic and moral integrity.
Self-starter who takes the initiative and works well independently
