Thomas P. Carney, Inc. is seeking a skilled Assistant Project Manager with experience in water and wastewater facilities to join our team. This is a key role supporting senior leadership in delivering complex construction projects, with a focus on water and wastewater facilities, on time and within budget. Applicant should be a motivated, career-minded individual with 8–10 years of commercial construction experience or equivalent. You’ll assist in managing day-to-day project operations, reviewing estimates, preparing budgets, and document management. A strong attention to detail, work ethic, and problem-solving mindset are essential. You’ll be trusted to support multiple facets of project execution while working closely with project managers, field supervision, subcontractors, and clients. Compensation & Benefits: • Salary: $85,000 to $100,000 (depending on experience) • 401(k) with employer match • Health and vision insurance • Paid time off • Bonus structure • Vehicle allowance Responsibilities: • Support the senior project manager with the execution of construction projects • Assist in reviewing project estimates and preparing job budgets • Participate in job cost tracking and reporting • Maintain and update project schedules • Prepare and manage change orders • Help coordinate subcontractors and suppliers • Attend project meetings and assist with documentation • Support billing processes and monthly progress submissions • Contribute to compliance reporting and safety documentation • Engage in bid preparation and value engineering efforts Qualifications: • 8–10 years of experience in commercial construction (public infrastructure a plus) • Experience with water/wastewater projects strongly preferred • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating/project management software • Exceptional attention to detail — no mistakes, even under pressure • Strong communication, coordination, and time management skills • Proven ability to solve problems and work independently • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related field is a plus, but not required Compensation: $85,000 to $100,000
