    Job Summary As an Assistant Manager at Wild Birds Unlimited, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming and informative environment for our customers while supporting the Store Manager in achieving operational excellence. You will be responsible for assisting with daily store operations, providing exceptional customer service, and sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm for birds and nature with our valued customers. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about birds and the outdoors, and who wants to help others learn more about them.

    Responsibilities

    Deliver outstanding customer service: Greet and assist customers, and provide expert advice on bird feeding, birdwatching, and nature-related products.

    Assist with daily store operations: Opening and closing procedures, inventory management, merchandising, and maintaining a clean and organized store.

    Product Knowledge: Maintain a deep understanding of our products and their benefits, and educate customers on bird feeding best practices and conservation efforts.

    Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with the Store Manager and team members to achieve store goals and maintain a positive work environment.

    Sales: Drive sales by engaging with customers, recommending products, and providing a seamless checkout experience.

    Visual Merchandising: Create attractive and informative product displays that enhance the customer experience.

    Qualifications

    Must have at least 3 to 5 years of retail management and sales experience.

    Interest in the backyard bird feeding hobby or nature is preferred but not required. We will train you!

    Must be able to lift and carry up to 20-50 lbs. repeatedly.

    Must be available to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, which will include opening, closing, weekend shifts, and working during busy holiday periods and sales.
