As an Assistant Store Team Leader, you’re pawsitively passionate about people and their pets. You will support the Store Team Leader in running the day-to-day operations of the store, leading the team by example, and delivering exceptional, neighborly service at every opportunity. Whether you’re welcoming a new puppy, jumping in to help a team member find the right solution for a pet parent, or partnering on ways to improve store performance, you play a key role in creating a fun, engaging, and pet-centric environment where both pets and people thrive.
What You’ll Do
Support and lead your team by example, delivering exceptional, neighborly service
Jump in to greet neighbors and their pets and create a welcoming in-store experience
Assist customers in choosing the best products for their pets’ needs
Support store performance including sales, engagement, and overall productivity
Help analyze results and partner with leadership on plans to improve performance
Assist with hiring, onboarding, and developing a strong team
Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and support to team members
Maintain a clean, safe, and well-run store environment (including animal care and safety)
Build relationships within the community and support local events and partnerships
Help create a fun, positive culture where both pets and people feel at home

Requirements and Responsibilities
2+ years of retail or customer-facing leadership experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred (High School Diploma/GED required)
Strong communication and leadership skills
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar tools
Ability to lift up to 65 lbs and perform physical tasks (climbing, bending, kneeling)
Ability to operate store equipment as needed
Reliable transportation and ability to work flexible schedules
Must be 18+ years old and able to meet hiring requirements set by the local franchise owner
