General Role Description
The Assistant Superintendent supports the Superintendent in overseeing all aspects of site operations. This role requires a thorough understanding of construction logistics, methods, materials, scheduling, and cost control. The Assistant Superintendent plays a key role in fostering collaboration, maintaining strong relationships with owners, architects, subcontractors, and consultants, and ensuring that projects are completed safely, on schedule, and with the highest quality.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Site Support
Assist the Superintendent in managing site operations.
Ensure compliance with safety standards across all trades.
Enforce company safety and quality control policies.
Help build, update, and maintain project schedules.
Direct subcontractors to execute successful project outcomes.
Support subcontractors with resources and guidance.
Maintain strong communication with project stakeholders.
Attend and contribute to meetings (preconstruction, scheduling, OAC, etc.).
Safety
Conduct weekly safety surveys and coordination meetings.
Maintain SWPPP documentation and BMP compliance.
Keep the jobsite office clean and organized.
Lead and participate in monthly safety meetings.
Scheduling & Documentation
Coordinate work among subcontractors, vendors, and owners.
Anticipate and resolve issues before work begins.
Maintain look-ahead schedules.
Complete daily reports and ensure proper documentation.
Keep record drawings accurate and current.
Communicate effectively with the Superintendent on progress and issues.
Quality Assurance
Utilize Quality Assurance Checklists.
Collaborate with subcontractors, architects, and owners to ensure quality.
Manage punch lists and finishing activities.
Oversee close-out documentation and deliver as-builts to the project manager.
Maintain a clean and professional jobsite appearance.
Procedures & Compliance
Ensure completion of field forms and documentation.
Participate in hand-off, safety, and superintendent meetings.
Uphold all company policies and procedures consistently.

OSHA 10-Hour and EPA SWPPP Inspector training.

Requirements
Valid Driver’s License.
Proficiency with construction management software.
OSHA 30-Hour certification.
SWPPP training.
Ongoing continuing education.
