Job Title: Assistant Teacher (Full-Time, Floater Position) Location: New Horizons Montessori Academy – Exton, PA Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8-Hour Shifts | In-Person Compensation: $17–$18/hour + benefits
About Us
At New Horizons Montessori Academy (NHMA), we are committed to nurturing independence, confidence, and curiosity in our students through the Montessori method. We are currently seeking compassionate, reliable, full-time Assistant Teachers to support our classrooms serving children from 6 months to 6 years old.
Position Overview
As an Assistant Teacher, you will support the Lead Teacher in creating a warm, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment. You’ll help guide students through daily routines and learning activities while ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and engage children during classroom activities and play
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe learning environment
Assist with diapering (infants–pre-primary) and monitor restroom use (pre-primary–primary)
Support the Lead Teacher in planning and rotating activities and materials
Communicate with parents/guardians as needed about children’s day-to-day needs
Model and reinforce positive behavior consistent with the Montessori philosophy
Who We're Looking For
We welcome all applicants, but preference will be given to those with childcare or early education experience. Ideal candidates are patient, enthusiastic, and passionate about working with young children.
Compensation & Benefits
$17–$18/hour
Paid daily break (30–45 minutes)
Up to 4 days PTO per year
Health insurance (eligible after 90 days, full-time only)
401(k) with 100% match up to 4% of annual pay (eligible after 90 days)
Baby Bonding Leave: 2 months unpaid + 2 bonus paid weeks distributed over 4 months upon return (after 6 months of service)

Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED (required)
Eligible to work in the United States
Fully vaccinated for COVID-19
Able to pass FBI fingerprinting, state background checks, and child abuse clearances
Recent physical exam and negative TB test required
