Assistant Teacher (Early Childhood Education) Location: The Learning Experience – South Lyon, MI Pay: $16–$18 per hour Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday

Position Overview

The Learning Experience – South Lyon is seeking a caring and reliable Assistant Preschool Teacher to support our preschool classrooms serving children ages 3–5. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a structured, play-based learning environment and wants to grow in early childhood education.

Responsibilities

Support the Lead Teacher in daily preschool classroom routines

Assist with learning activities aligned with the L.E.A.P. curriculum

Encourage early literacy, math readiness, and social development

Help maintain a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment

Support transitions, meals, rest time, and learning centers

Communicate positively with families and team members

Maintain compliance with Michigan childcare licensing standards

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required

Experience in a daycare, preschool, or childcare setting preferred

ECE coursework or CDA a plus

Understanding of developmentally appropriate practices helpful

Must meet Michigan childcare licensing requirements
