    The AVP Senior Compliance Officer-Control Review you will act as an independent Second Line of Defense (2LoD) function, that undertakes risk-based testing of processes and outcomes of First Line of Defense (1LoD) Compliance control activities, to provide assurance that the business is operating in line with relevant laws, regulations, principles, and HSBC Group standards and policies and to ensure that HSBC maintains effective compliance controls. This role holder also perform deep-dive and thematic reviews on issues, opportunities and/or strategic change. Main business lines covered by CA include Markets, Treasury, Security Services, Global Banking, Commercial Banking, and supporting functions (e.g. IT, Operations, and Risk Management).

    Here is what you can expect:

    As our AVP Senior Compliance Officer-Control Review you will collaborate with the team to assist in the planning and execution of assigned reviews, and partner with stakeholders to achieve CA and organizational objectives by utilizing the CA testing methodology. This will include but not limited to, identifying deficiencies and other issues impacting compliance controls, draft assigned portions of review reports in accordance with the CA methodology, and maintains current knowledge of business processes and compliance requirements, as well as of pertinent internal regulatory policy and procedural changes.

    For this role, HSBC targets a fixed pay range between $96,900 and $145,300.

    The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

    Requirements

    Employment eligibility to work with HSBC in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.

    • Minimum of five to seven years proven and progressive financial services audit, operations, and/or compliance experience or equivalent. Working knowledge or experience with the capital markets products, regulatory requirements, and Swap Dealer Compliance testing are plus. Bachelor’s or Master degree in business, finance, related field or equivalent experience.

    • Strong communications, analytical, organizational, and planning skills. Proficiency with personal computers and software packages.

    • Knowledge of Banking and brokerage businesses, products, operations, systems and organization and understanding of all significant regulatory compliance requirements applicable to the business.
