    Description: The Human Resources Generalist provides administrative duties necessary to implementing the organization's human resource’s function, assists in carrying out various programs and procedures, and advises other staff members on human resources matters to ensure productive agency administrative operations. The duties include implementing management policy and operating practices, managing employment matters which includes recruiting, hiring, and onboarding new staff, keeping orientation manuals current, distributing correspondence, maintaining confidential information and personnel records, and managing caregiver continuing education. This position regularly interacts with staff, coordinates with online training and recruiting vendors, resolves problems, and ensures agency integrity. This position requires knowledge of principles and practices of human resources, excellent interpersonal skills, and computer literacy.

    Education: High school diploma required; four (4) year college degree preferred.

    Qualifications: • A minimum of five (5) years' experience in an office setting, six (6) months in human resources. • Accuracy in typing, computer literacy, the ability to communicate effectively by telephone in a pleasant manner, and the ability to function independently with minimal supervision. • Capable of handling multiple tasks as once. • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality. • Able to interface well with all departments in a highly professional manner.

    Primary Duties:

    1. Implement effective recruitment activities to assure adequate direct care staff availability throughout the entire service area and other staff positions. Place and maintain internal and external recruitment advertisement. Give and receive employment applications and instructions to facilitate the hiring process. Review applications for completeness. Conduct reference checks, license or certification verification, and other required pre-employment documentation to assure agency integrity. Screens and selects the best-qualified candidates for the position. Maintain other records and reports pertaining to application flow to assure an efficient hiring process.
    2. Ensure agency compliance with all appropriate labor laws, including ADA, AA, EEOC, FMLA, accreditation standards, and licensing regulations and best practices. Maintains records necessary to assure agency conformance with employment laws and regulations.
    3. Process new hire paperwork, including creating personnel folders and computer files, and assisting with new employee orientation as directed to ensure completeness of process. This includes establishing and controlling personnel records and ensuring they are maintained in a confidential manner according to regulations and standards.
    4. Verify required license(s) are in good standing for all staff. Perform criminal background checks on all new hires.
    5. Participate in benefits administration to include coordinating meeting dates and time, distributing forms, receiving claims, processing paperwork, or requests and tracking, a d helping employee's complete required forms accurately to assure appropriate benefit application.
    6. Help monitor performance appraisal process for staff. This includes preparing computer reports, assembling forms, notification of managers, receiving completed forms, coordinating training and in-service sessions, and entering dates in computer.
    7. Maintain human resources information system files and records and compile reports from database as needed to ensure completeness and accuracy. This activity requires knowledge of the agency human resources computer application and computer system and attention to detail.
    8. Make and receive telephone calls and appropriately field questions from staff, clients, and vendors. This activity requires a friendly, professional phone manner and good customer service attitude.
    9. Perform special projects as assigned.
    10. Compose and prepare departmental correspondence as required.

    Hours: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday

    FLSA Status: Salaried exempt
