Description: Assisting Hands is a home care agency currently with operations in Fort Lauderdale, FL. It is part of one of the leading home care franchise systems in the U.S., and will spend the next two years implementing an aggressive expansion of our home services business, which includes meticulous attention to the franchise’s standards and systems; recruiting, screening and training large numbers of CNAs and HHAs; strong market penetration objectives; development of solid, respectful relationships with referral sources and customers; and providing high-quality care to meet or exceed the individual needs of its clients.

The company is looking for a head of nursing who will oversee the following functions:- Oversee the training of caregivers;- Supervise the elaboration of individual client-care plans;- Inspect the quality of services rendered by caregivers;- Assist the HR department in screening and selecting caregiving staff;- Advocate for the agency’s services before relevant entities, communities, healthcare facilities and professional groups;- Actively contribute to develop new business and engage with new clients and their families;- Assist the company’s leadership in gradually expanding and training the caregiving and business development teams as the company grows;- Act as a full member of the senior management team and contribute to regular discussions of strategy, business execution, quality control and attention to customers.

This position only requires 5 hours per week initially, but can grow over time as the business grows.

The ideal candidate:

• Is a registered nurse – or has a similar nursing degree – with experience in long-term care, senior care or assisted living facilities, rehabilitation hospitals, community health centers, skilled home health care or home nursing services. Other academic or professional backgrounds may be considered for individuals with excellent and pertinent professional records.- Has significant supervisory experience, having successfully managed or directed teams in relevant facilities, hospitals or home care agencies. - Is experienced in and familiar with the relevant regulations of some of (but not necessarily all) these specialized fields: long-term care, home- and community-based services, assisted living. - Preferably, has managed offsite (in-home) teams of caregivers. - Is a very good communicator, who transmits confidence in and passion for what she or he does, and is able to rapidly adapt presentation style and demeanor to different audiences. - Feels comfortable to develop and nurture new professional relationships.- Has a keen interest in and will be deeply committed to contributing to the rapid growth of a solid, high-quality service company. - Experiences true excitement in the achievement of challenging goals.- Has a positive, can-do attitude to work and is a hands-on professional capable of effectively carrying several managerial and technical activities.- Strongly believes that high quality and high ethical standards, as well as a deep sense of respect and commitment to customers and other team members, are non-negotiable aspects of her or his ideal workplace.

Active involvement in community-based non-profit activities or organizations is desirable but not required.
